Fast RMX Review

Fast RMX is a remaster (or a remix) of Fast Racing Neo, a Wii U eShop title. Developed by Shin'en Multimedia, it is the third game in the Nintendo exclusive Fast series that started all the way on WiiWare. The Fast series is somewhat of a spiritual successor to F-Zero, a Nintendo franchise that has been long forgotten by Nintendo itself. If Nintendo won't develop any more games in the series, at least Shin'en is trying...but have their efforts ended up being worth it? Let's dig in.

Graphics

Fast RMX looks phenomenal, especially considering the hardware it's on. Breath of the Wild is a beautiful game, but it doesn't look real. Fast RMX does. It's crazy to me that we live in a world where $20 games on portable Nintendo hardware look this good. This game is truly breathtaking.

In some of the levels, there are weather effects. As water, snow, or sand bombard your screen, it's easy to become incredibly immersed in the game's world. One of the key mechanics of the game requires your car and certain areas throughout the track to glow in a bright blue or orange. These bright lights really grab your eye and add to the overall experience of Fast RMX. The game also has some really great particle effects. As your car veers into the barricades on the sides of a track or into an enemy racer, the sparks that fly up into the air really make the game even more intense.

Fast RMX also has a diverse lineup environments from across the world (and beyond). Whether you're blasting through the bitter tundra of Antarctica or the brightly lit urban landscape of Neo Kyoto, you'll feel like you're really there.

Music/Sound

I really love the music in Fast RMX. The game's soundtrack is comprised of tons of different electronic tracks that really fit the environments they're played in and cause you to become even more invested into the intense experience that is Fast RMX. I really enjoy listening to these songs while I'm playing the game, and even when I'm not.

The sound effects are also pretty good, although they're not really anything too special. The sounds you hear as you zoom around the track make you feel like you're right there. The crashing and landing noises also sound pretty realistic.

Gameplay

Fast RMX's gameplay is easily the best part about it. While everything else shines, the gameplay has me coming back for more daily. This game has the perfect balance of accessibility. It's simple enough that you're able to immediately have fun, but it's complex enough that you'll keep coming back for more to master it.

My favorite multiplayer game on the Switch at the moment is Fast RMX. I expected it to be Snipperclips, but I absolutely love this game. I'm playing it a lot more than I expected to, and it's really fun to play with friends, too.

Some of the best recent memories I have with friends are when we play this game at school, and I've even made some new friends playing Fast RMX. It works so well with multiplayer because it works so well with the single Joy-Con play, I'm honestly amazed by that.

The HD Rumble in Fast RMX isn't really that noticeable to be honest. I don't know if that's a problem with the game or with HD Rumble itself, as I haven't played any other HD Rumble-enabled games. The online features in Fast RMX are pretty limited, but Shin'en has said that they will be implementing a lot of highly requested features like the ability to play with your online friends. I absolutely can't wait for that.

Overall

Fast RMX is one of my favorite games on the Switch. Honestly, I think I like it just as much as Zelda, or at least close. It's such an engaging experience. For $20, buying Fast RMX is a no-brainer. Aside from some gripes with the HD Rumble and the online being pretty half-baked at launch, Fast RMX is almost perfect. For that reason, I'm going to give it a confident 9/10.

Why Every Nintendo Fan NEEDS To Buy 1-2 Switch

1-2 Switch  is the only Switch exclusive launch title developed by Nintendo. If that and the fact that it actually looks like a pretty fun time don't sell you, I know what might. When presented with this information, your perception on the necessity of 1-2 Switch  very well may change. The reason you should buy this game is because of the Switch itself.  I'll get to that in a second. First, let's look at the launch of the Nintendo Switch. The games confirmed to be releasing are Breath of the Wild, 1-2 Switch, Just Dance 2017, Skylanders Imaginators, World of Goo, Binding of Isaac, Little Inferno, Super Bomberman R, I Am Setsuna, and Human Resource Machine . While many of these may end up being really good games, they've almost all already been released on other consoles, or will do so simultaneously with the Switch release. The only "made for Switch" games here are Super Bomberman R ...and 1-2 Switch .   Super Bomberman R  looks okay, but with Konami

Nintendo Switch Review

Nintendo has always been innovative. They always try to do something new and creative. It doesn't always work, as the Wii U showed us, but they always try. No matter how you feel about Nintendo in recent years, you have to admit that they always try to do something unique. The Switch is no different.  The Nintendo Switch signals a new era of Nintendo. We all know that. However, at its core, it is still very much a Nintendo console, in the best and the worst ways. It comes with all the charm you'd expect. It has a lot of the barriers that are a Nintendo signature at this point. I'm speaking in very vague terms, but there is a lot to say about the Switch. Let's just dig into it.  The specs on the Switch are honestly nothing that impressive. However, as they always have, Nintendo makes the most of them. Although the screen is only 720p, much lower than the modern expectation, the games all look beautiful on the screen. The display is so crisp. I'm sure it

How I Changed My Mind On The Launch Lineup and 1-2 Switch

If we're being honest, the original Nintendo Switch launch lineup was pretty weak. It featured a measly five games, two of which were third party ports that will likely not sell at all. However, in the five weeks since the Nintendo Switch was fully revealed, this lineup has grown. It's grown a lot. The original Year One lineup picture posted by Nintendo of America's official Twitter account  A lot of games have been added since the initial lineup. The launch that originally consisted of five games is now at least twelve games. I am Setsuna, Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove, World of Goo, Little Inferno, Human Resource Machine , Snipperclips, and Fast RMX  have all been added to the March 3rd release day. /u/AbsoluteMagnitude's most recent Switch lineup  The lineup in general has grown exponentially.
